Experience and Approach

Baltic started with a simple insight: “The lawyers I admire most make their clients’ problems their own.” Effective counsel demands this level of ownership because sophisticated clients hire lawyers to create opportunities.
Their lawyers should worry about the path to success so they don’t have to.

Stefan founded Baltic after more than 15 years of practice in some of the most storied law firms in the field. Stefan set his standards in Silicon Valley in the industry-leading patent and trade secrets litigation group of Morrison Foerster, before relocating to Seattle to join Fenwick & West. After making partner at Dorsey & Whitney, Stefan grew his practice to include copyright and trademark litigation. Stefan then joined former colleagues from Fenwick and Dorsey at Folio Law Group, an intellectual property boutique made up of Intellectual Ventures and Big Law alumni specializing in patent litigation. During his time at Folio, Stefan generated more than $100 million in revenue for his clients through litigation and licensing efforts, and resolved numerous disputes on the defense side of copyright and trademark matters.

Stefan is a frequent writer, commentator, and presenter on developments in IP law. Stefan has also guest lectured on the topic of trade secrets litigation at the University of Washington School of Law.

Stefan likes to solve hard problems with smart people.
